The house is very historically significant. (There is still a metal post to tie up your horse to the left of the front porch). Built in 1897, it was described by Walter Langsam as the finest example of Georgian colonial architecture in the city. The outside architecture and extensive interior trim and detail were cited cited as outstanding. Known as the Larz Anderson House, the house was designed by the noted firm Elzner and Anderson who designed many prominent homes in Cincinnati at the turn of the century.
